A pattern for when you are made to open it
If someone forces you to unlock the app, draw your emergency pattern. An ordinary vault opens, and the others are gone from that phone.
Pro It needs a second vault, which is part of Pro.
How it works
Draw your emergency pattern and AlbumVault opens your chosen vault and permanently removes access to every other vault on this phone, with no prompt. It needs a second vault, which is part of Pro.
Backup files you saved are not touched: a vault removed by the emergency pattern comes back only from its backup file, with its recovery phrase.
Setting it up
Setting an emergency pattern asks for that vault’s recovery phrase and warns you that drawing it removes every other vault on the phone, including vaults you may not know are there. So someone with only a guest pattern cannot set one.
Make the vault it opens believable
Put real, unremarkable photos in it: receipts, a pet, screenshots, a few trips. An empty vault invites the next question.
Know the limits
What it does not do
- It is for coercion by people with no right to your photos, not a way around a lawful order. Destroying data in that situation may itself be a crime.
- Deleting is not shredding: a lab that images the phone may recover deleted bytes.
