Who we are
AlbumVault is published by Viral Apps LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the AlbumVault apps for iPhone and Android and the albumvault.app website. Questions about it go to [email protected].
What the apps collect: nothing
The apps do not send us your photos, videos, patterns, PINs, recovery phrases, contacts, location, device identifiers or usage data. In App Store terms this is “Data Not Collected”. In Google Play terms, no data is collected or shared.
There is no AlbumVault server, so there is no AlbumVault account to sign up for. We never have your photos or your keys, so we have nothing to hand over.
The apps contain no analytics, ad or tracking SDKs. Purchases use Apple’s or Google’s own in-app purchase. The apps do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
The Android app has no internet permission: it cannot upload anything.
What stays on your phone
Every photo and video is encrypted on your phone before it is saved. Vault files are left out of your phone’s own iCloud or Google device backup. Backing up a vault is a separate, encrypted step you control. The wrong patterns someone tried are never stored, because a near miss could give yours away.
Purchases
Pro is bought inside the app, through Apple’s App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google take the payment and keep your payment details under their own privacy policies. We never receive your card details.
To unlock Pro, the app asks Apple or Google, on your phone, whether you have bought it. Apple and Google give us sales and subscription reports for accounting and tax.
Read Apple’s privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy.
Crash reports from Apple and Google
If you agree in your phone’s settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple or Google may give us crash reports and overall usage numbers. Apple and Google run this, not the app. It does not include what is in your vault. You can turn it off in your phone’s settings at any time.
Permissions and why the app asks
These permissions are used only on your phone, and nothing they capture is sent to us. Photos and videos you take in the app go straight into your encrypted vault. You can turn any permission off in your phone’s settings.
| Permission | What it is used for |
|---|---|
| Camera | To take photos and videos straight into your vault. Only if you turn on break-in photos, also to photograph whoever enters a wrong code. |
| Microphone | To record sound with videos you shoot inside the app. |
| Face ID (iPhone), fingerprint or face unlock (Android) | To open one vault without drawing your pattern, if you turn it on. Your face and fingerprint data stay with your phone’s system. The app only learns whether the check passed. |
| Photo library | To bring in the photos and videos you pick, and to remove the originals from your library only when you confirm. On Android, the system photo picker and a system dialog do this. |
Break-in photos
Break-in photos (Pro): after 3 wrong tries AlbumVault can take a front-camera photo, encrypted so only your vault can open it. The phone’s camera indicator still lights up when the photo is taken, so the person may notice.
Break-in photos are off until you turn them on. They stay encrypted on your phone and are never sent to us. A break-in photo may show another person, so use the feature only on your own phone and follow the law where you live.
Backups
Save an encrypted backup file of a vault to Files, a computer or a drive you trust. Only its 12-word recovery phrase opens it.
You choose where the file goes. If you put it in a cloud service, that service stores the encrypted file under its own privacy policy. AlbumVault has no automatic iCloud or Google Drive backup.
Children
AlbumVault is not made for children under 13. The apps collect no personal data from anyone, children included. If a child has emailed us, ask us and we will delete the email.
If you email us
When you write to [email protected], we receive your email address and what you write. We use it only to answer you, keep it only as long as we need it for that, and delete it when you ask. Never send us your pattern, PIN or recovery phrase. We will never ask for them.
Your rights
Because the apps collect nothing, we hold no app data about you to access, correct, export or delete. To delete everything on your phone, delete the app; backup files you saved elsewhere stay until you delete them. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
This website
This part covers albumvault.app.
- It sets no cookies and uses no local storage.
- It loads no analytics, advertising, social media or tracking scripts.
- It loads nothing from other companies’ servers. Fonts, images and code are served from this site.
The free tools
The tools read the files you choose inside your browser tab and process them on your device. Your files are not uploaded, and closing the tab clears them. You can check this: load a tool, turn on airplane mode, and it keeps working.
One exception, only if you click it: the photo metadata tool offers a link to open a photo’s location in OpenStreetMap. Clicking it opens openstreetmap.org with those coordinates in a new tab.
Server logs
Like most websites, the server that delivers these pages may record standard request details (IP address, page requested, time and browser type) to keep the site running and secure. Those records are not used to build profiles or for advertising.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we update this page and the effective date at the top.
